Environmental professionals heading to a construction site
Expertise

Environmental
construction monitoring.

A field presence at the key stages of your work. We turn the conditions of your authorization into clear instructions for the contractor and document the site through to the final report.

Overview

Your work in sensitive environments, properly supervised from kickoff to final report.

An environmental authorization comes with conditions to meet in the field: authorized areas, protection of wetlands and waterbodies, wildlife restriction periods, erosion control, design of watercourse crossings. Having an environmental professional on site at key moments turns these requirements into clear instructions for the contractor and makes it possible to spot deviations quickly, while they can still be corrected.

Our team supports you throughout your work: kickoff meeting, monitoring visits, field surveys, visit reports and end-of-work report. You get a rigorous, documented picture of your site, and a single contact who links the client, the contractor and the ministry.

What it includes

A field presence at critical moments, and complete documentation of your work.

  • Kickoff meeting with the contractor: presentation of the authorization conditions, the environmental specifications and the limits of the work areas
  • Verification of the staking of authorized areas and sensitive environments before work begins
  • Monitoring visits coordinated with the critical stages of the work (watercourse crossings, culverts, work near wetlands and waterbodies)
  • Verification of mitigation measures: erosion and sediment control, hydrocarbon management, compliance with wildlife restriction periods
  • Field surveys and mapping of completed areas and structures
  • Visit reports sent throughout the work, with recommendations
  • End-of-work report

Our method

Prepare, monitor, document: a site followed closely from start to finish.

  1. Preparation and kickoff meeting

Review of the authorization and environmental specifications, then a meeting with the contractor before work begins to present the measures to follow, share the limits of the authorized areas and answer the site team's questions.

  2. Monitoring of the work

Site visits planned with the client and the contractor to ensure an environmental professional is present during critical interventions. Verification of staking, compliance with authorized limits and application of natural environment protection measures.

  3. Follow-up and recommendations during the work

A report after each visit documenting progress and findings, with supporting photographs. Recommendations to correct observed deviations and follow-up with the parties involved, including the ministry when required.

  4. Final surveys and end-of-work report

Field surveys and mapping of completed developments, comparison with the authorized areas and structures, then drafting of the end-of-work report: description of the interventions, maps, photo record and visit reports. This report can be sent to the ministry at the client's request.
